Jamie Carragher: Liverpool aren't giving ... - The Sport Review
Liverpool need to give summer signing Christian Benteke more help up front, according to Jamie Carragher.
The Belgium international scored what ultimately proved a consolation goal for the Reds in a 3-0 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
I dont understand what the point was in playing Danny Ings in that wide position. He didnt give the support to Benteke

Benteke has scored two goals in five Premier League games after the 24-year-old became Liverpools second most-expensive of all-time following his 32.5m move from Aston Villa earlier this summer.
And former Liverpool defender Carragher believes Rodgers must do more tactically to ensure Benteke gets help from his team-mates up front after an isolated 90 minutes at United.
Theres not enough help for Benteke, Carragher told Sky Sports.
Ings came in and I said before the game it must be two up front and they must be playing a diamond formation, but they were still playing 4-3-3.
I dont understand what the point was in playing Danny Ings in that wide position. He didnt give the support to Benteke.
You think about how many strikers Liverpool have on the books and they have no wide players. Theyve only got Jordon Ibe. Firmino is not a wide player and Coutinho played there last week and hes not a wide player.
I dont understand this obsession with playing 4-3-3. Brendan Rodgers came to the club wanting to play 4-3-3 and it didnt work.
The great season they had was with two strikers and how they got them into the team is down to the manager. Theyve got a lot of strikers, no wide players, and he continues to play 4-3-3.
Benteke scored his first Liverpool goal on his Anfield debut in a 1-0 victory over newly-promoted Bournemouth last month.
