Van Gaal expects new signing to improve | FootballFanCast.com
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has stated that Morgan Schneiderlin has done well since moving to Old Trafford, but expects the all-action midfielder to improve further.
The Red Devils moved to land the France international from Southampton over the summer, with the star returning to St Marys Stadium today for a clash against his former employers.
Schneiderlin has been used in a squad rotation system with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick in the heart of the teams midfield and as such is not automatically guaranteed a start for his new team team.
Van Gaal has stated that the Frenchman has taken to life at Old Trafford well but can improve further.
For a player from Southampton, it is a big step to move to Manchester United and get used to how we prepare, he is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
Very few teams play or prepare for matches the way we do. That is a part of the procedure.
He is doing very well and I expect he shall improve every week. It is not always easy but he is coping with that because he is a thinker. When you think about the game it is easier to cope.
He has high competition and it is not easy for him, but he has played more than both Carrick and Schweinsteiger.
It will be interesting to see the reception that Schneiderlin receives upon his return to St Marys, with the former Strasbourg man playing a key role in getting the Saints promoted to the Premier League and keeping the side in the top division.
